Frequently asked questions
What is Bridges?
A logic puzzle (also known as Hashi or Hashiwokakero) where you connect numbered islands with horizontal and vertical bridges. Each island's number says how many bridges must meet it. At most two bridges may run between the same pair, and bridges cannot cross.
Is Bridges the same as Hashi or Hashiwokakero?
Yes. Hashiwokakero (橋をかけろ, "Build bridges!") is the original Japanese name from puzzle publisher Nikoli; Bridges and Hashi are the common shorter titles.
How do I draw a bridge?
Click an island to select it, then click another orthogonally aligned island. Click again to upgrade to a double bridge; click once more to clear it.
Why must all islands be connected?
It is one of the puzzle rules — when you finish, every island must be reachable from every other through the bridges. Disconnected sub-graphs do not count as a win.
Are these no-guess puzzles?
Yes. Every shipped Bridges puzzle is solvable by deduction alone — the generator rejects any puzzle that requires guessing.
What grid sizes are offered?
7×7 (Easy), 9×9 (Medium), 10×10 (Hard), and Random (mixed).
