Frequently asked questions
What is Klondike Solitaire?
The classic single-player card game made famous by Microsoft Windows. Move all 52 cards to four suit-specific foundations (Ace through King) using a tableau of seven columns plus a stock + waste pile. Also simply known as "Solitaire" or "Patience".
What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
In Draw 1 (Easy mode), every click of the stock flips one card to the waste — easier, more cards immediately playable. In Draw 3 (Hard mode), the stock flips three cards at a time, but only the top of the trio is playable; this is the classic Windows Solitaire setup.
How does the difficulty scale here?
Easy = Draw 1, unlimited stock recycles. Medium = Draw 1, max 3 recycles. Hard = Draw 3, max 3 recycles (classic Windows). Random rotates between the three settings per deal.
Can I undo moves?
Yes — the Undo button rolls back any single move (including a stock draw or recycle). There is no penalty for undoing.
How is scoring calculated?
Classic Windows formula: +10 for any move to a foundation, +5 for waste→tableau or revealing a face-down card, –15 for foundation→tableau give-back, –2 per move (cumulative). Score is clamped at 0.
Are all deals winnable?
No — Klondike is famously not always solvable. About 80% of random deals can be won. If you get stuck, hit Reset to start the same deal over, or move to the next deal.
